Discover Trades Day Camp

Application Form

The Construction Foundation of BC is offering Discover Trades Day Camps across British Columbia.

These are week-long opportunities for young women, young men, and Indigenous youth ages 10–13 to explore the trades industry in a fun, collaborative environment. These camps will showcase the industry as participants make and build projects relating to different skilled trades. Participants will learn valuable skills, safety, working with tools, and collaborating with other participants.

Youth in Trades Camp

  • Camp Hours: 9:00 am–3:00 pm
    (Drop-off begins at 8:30 am. Camp hours may vary and are subject to change.)

  • Pick-up: Please ensure arrangements are made to pick up participants promptly at the end of each day.

  • Final Day Celebration: Awards and celebration typically take place on the final day of camp from 12:00–1:00 pm, followed by early dismissal. Families are warmly invited to attend and celebrate with us.

 

Learning Objectives:

Explore different trades within the construction industry

Increase awareness of trades for underrepresented groups

Share safe work practices with participants

Teach participants the proper use of a variety of tools

 

Included in the Program:

Snacks, lunch, and water for the duration of the camp

Hands-on exploration of trade skills taught by industry leaders and tradeswomen

All required safety equipment and tools

A celebration on the last day to showcase participants’ work to parents and family members

 

Trades Covered:

Carpentry, Electrical, Welding, Masonry, Painting, Plumbing, Heavy Equipment, Tile Setting, Sheet Metal, Occupational Health and Safety, and more!
