FROM MENTORSHIP TO LEADERSHIP: community connections support success for youth in B.C.

Brody is currently working as a Captain in a Healing Village for youth aging out of care and enjoys playing badminton in his downtime. He describes himself as a bit of a workaholic, as he enjoys the work he does in the community. He takes inspiration from his peer groups and has found that surrounding himself with good people provides uplifting support and is helping him find his way.

Brody is taking his action plans, one step at a time. He is enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts program with Thompson Rivers University and plans to learn as much as he can. He intends to work through his course load while relying on his intuition to guide his study path and build on his community experiences.

Brody explains how one-on-one support helped him to build self-confidence. Now that he feels he can do what he puts his mind to, he is looking toward a bright future. He will continue to work within his healing community while he studies and plans to enjoy the process.

Brody’s advice:

“Live life while you can, enjoy the process, and have as much fun as you can!”
