The Hands-On Employment Readiness Program
ReFRAME is a hands-on employment readiness program created to empower individuals facing barriers to employment. Blending practical carpentry experience with personal development and mentorship, the program helps participants build both technical abilities and confidence. Alongside carpentry projects, participants strengthen essential workplace skills, gain tools to support their mental well-being, and connect with real employers.
Program Activities Include:
- Paid participation incentive
- Daily lunch provided
- Hands-on carpentry skills training
- Mentorship for success on the jobsite
- Employment and job readiness skills
- Safety Certificates & PPE safety gear
- Match to employers for a 4-week paid work experience
Eligibility:
- 16 years of age or older
- Self-identified barriers to employment
- Reside in Greater Victoria and surrounding areas
- Canadian citizen or permanent resident, have been granted refugee status and are legally entitled to work in Canada
- Desire to pursue work in the construction industry
