Tech for Tradies
The Tech for Tradies Fund was created to honour the legacy of Ellen Gosney, an inspiring tradesperson whose voice sparked meaningful change.
Years ago, Ellen bravely shared how not having her own laptop was a barrier to advancing her career in the skilled trades—a reality faced by many others in the industry. Her willingness to speak up became the catalyst for this fund.
With thanks to a generous donor, we are pleased to offer Tech for Tradies, to provide free refurbished laptops to equity-priority tradespeople across British Columbia. The fund will help more tradespeople access the digital tools they need to succeed in training, certification, and employment.
Ellen’s legacy lives on in this initiative, which reflects her passion for removing barriers and supporting others in their journey.

“It’s beautiful to see how many people she touched! This is a great step in the right direction for accessibility for people in the trades; I know my mom struggled with a number of things due to not having the luxury of a laptop. I appreciate this more than you know. You made my day”
