The Construction Foundation of BC is excited to support ReWired Recovery Foundation’s second annual SoberFest this July in Langford, BC. SoberFest is an alcohol and substance-free music and comedy festival that is setting out to raise over $300,000 in 2023 for people on their path to recovery and sober living.
Tickets are on sale for the one-day event that kicks off at 12:00 pm on July 22, 2023 at Langford’s Starlight Stadium Plaza. Festival-goers will enjoy live music and comedy acts in an open-air, festival environment without alcohol and substances that may be found at other events.
“SoberFest aims to show everyone that there are viable solutions to supporting recovery out there,” said Rewired Recovery Foundation and SoberFest founder Mike Manhas.
A recent report on the Estimation of the Economic Impact of Substance Use and the Related Mental Health Issues on the BC Construction Industry indicated that hundreds of thousands of worker-hours and millions of dollars are lost each year due to substance abuse and mental health issues. The numbers provided in the report present a strong case of the need for events such as SoberFest and it’s efforts to provide recovery and treatment for individuals in the province.
SoberFest creates an opportunity for those in or seeking recovery to celebrate, be celebrated, build connections, and raise critical funds for treatment and recovery options. This non-traditional festival is alcohol and substance-free, creating a recreational environment that is welcoming, supportive, and conducive to wellness for attendees.
